Put Down Your Devices So Your Kids Would Follow

Wondering why no matter how you tell your child to stop playing computer games he just wouldn’t follow?

outdoor activities

In This Article

Sure, you already set limit in the time allowed for him to use his gadgets, you even cut down access to technology in certain parts of your home. Most days you try to convince him to do fun activities with you at home, and even arrange outdoor activities in the midst of your busy schedule. But all your efforts are put to waste the next day, or worst, at the next hour. He either prefers to stay at home to play online games or bring his gadgets along so he can play in the car while you travel.

What is it that you’re doing wrong? Simple. Set a good example.

Children are great imitators as they always say. They copy what their parents do. It’s how they learn. So next time you want to wean them from bad tech habits, why don’t you start from putting down your devices first. Each day you can have a few hours away from your mobile and computer and instead of relaxing in front of the tv, choose to spend this time with your child.
